In Transition after downsizing
Peter led our auditing team at Coca-Cola during a transformational period in Coca-Cola Quality, which was difficult for the internal clients to accept and new to the auditors. Peter's professionalism and leadership was critical in leading his auditors to convince the internal clients that we would all work together to get it right. And his personal efforts were key in getting the worldwide program not only running but successful for the Company.
In July, I had Peter Chatel speak to my team. On this call, he was both informative and inspirational. Because of his extensive business background, he had a great amount of personal experience to bring to the table. In reflection after the call, he asked me after if I had any needs for myself in particular business coaching. I had thought about coaching in the past but was never willing to make the commitment and invest in myself to that level. This time, however something compelled me to take him up on his offer. The changes started right away. He asked a few key questions mainly focused on what I really wanted and what I was willing to do to make that happen. Having a layer of accountability has made all of the difference. I have actually executed things on my “wish I could do this” list and have incorporated into them into daily habits.
Through our work together, I have designed the right level of business support in terms of an assistant in my office who also completes home projects. I knew I was struggling to get it all done but really needed someone to guide me through the process of identifying what I needed to delegate. Historically, when I thought about how to manage getting it all done, I would get overwhelmed in the swirling thoughts and ultimately feel like I was wasting time, so I would hurl myself into another activity. As a result, I frequently never “pulled the trigger” on making a new plan. Now, having the appropriate amount of help has reduced my stress level to an all time low and has given my family amazing quality time together.
When I attended company conferences and would learn from the leaders and every one of them had a quiet time that they fiercely guarded. I always wanted to have a quiet time myself but never could get started. For 6 months, I have been actively following a morning routine that begins my day with focus and intention. I have included my two small children in that practice and I believe that I am giving them an invaluable gift of this morning reflection time.
Peter and I have worked to create the habit of time blocking and it has made me so much more efficient with my time. I am actually getting things completed rather than just responding to the never-ending surge of emails. I am moving projects forward and less is falling through the cracks.
Our most timely coaching session, came on a day where I began letting fear of an audacious goal hold me back from playing all out. Through his questions, Peter guided me to what I knew was right in my heart but was just shrouded in fear. Now, I have my most creative vision board ever and I am telling others about my dream.
The effectiveness of our work together is supported by my results. Before beginning my business performance coaching, my production was about $7,000 each month. With Peter’s support, within 4 months my production was $19,000. I know these results reflect having a refreshed and focused mind and plan for my day – all came through the increased awareness, focused action and accountability associated with Peter’s coaching.
